Anubias barteri var. Nana gold

Anubias barteri var. nana 'Gold' is a striking cultivar of Anubias barteri var. nana, selectively bred for its light green to golden-yellow foliage, which offers high visual contrast in aquascaped aquariums. Like other Anubias species, it is native to West Africa and exhibits the same robust, slow-growing rhizomatous structure, producing thick, leathery leaves ideal for both submerged and emersed setups. The vibrant color of the leaves is most intense under moderate to high lighting, although the plant itself remains adaptable to low-light conditions, making it a favorite for both beginners and advanced aquascapers. Due to its small size and compact growth, A. barteri 'Nana Gold' is best positioned in the foreground or on hardscape elements such as rocks and driftwood. It should not be planted in substrate, as burying the rhizome can lead to rot; instead, it should be attached using plant-safe glue or thread. The growth rate is very slow, with new leaves forming gradually even under optimal conditions, which contributes to its low maintenance requirements.
